Steinhauser, a 4th-generation, woman-owned label manufacturer in Newport, KY, USA, celebrated the dawn of a new era by formally introducing its new 12-color MPS flexographic press to the public. The Ribbon Cutting celebration took place on Friday, March 15, 2019, with numerous attendees, including members of TLMI, customers who have been with Steinhauser for over 60 years, the City of Newport, KY, the City of Fort Thomas, KY, suppliers and other local business leaders.

In honor of Steinhauser’s 114-year history, Ken Rechtin, Commissioner of the City of Newport, KY, gave a commemorating speech, and Eric Haas, Mayor of Fort Thomas, KY, read a Proclamation, declaring March 15, 2019 “Steinhauser Day.” Over 80 people were in attendance.

After the official ribbon cutting, the MPS press ran an inaugural production run. In addition to this investment, Steinhauser has hired an executive staff, and designed what it describes as an aggressive five-year strategic growth plan.

“In 2009, we took a risk and sold the commercial side of the business, finding ourselves with one customer and a vision. Today, we have over 100 customers, and continue to thrive. This new press is the result of the hard work and dedication of our team for past 10 years,” said Tara Halpin, CEO and Steinhauser’s 4th generation owner. She added, “We see a bright future ahead and will continue to work hard and commit to excellence, in order to deliver our growth plan.”

Halpin christened the new MPS EF 530 press “Bobby,” as a tribute to her father and the company’s third-generation owner, Robert “Bobby” Steinhauser.
